Issue 216 of Hotshoe is out next week, and it belongs entirely to Gregory Crewdson.

Once a year, we hand a whole issue to one photographer. For Hotshoe Issue 216: Deconstructing Gregory Crewdson we collaborated with Crewdson to peek behind the scenes to see how his incredible photographs, which can take years to make, are constructed. Often compared to movies, his images emphasise, not conceal, their theatrical staging, and the production process is not dissimilar to that of a film. But we are forced to use our imagination when we engage with one of his photographs, fill in the narrative with our own story, our own memories and dreams and fears.
